Custom Wheel Maker
Make a custom wheel by replacing the example entries with your own choices. Give the wheel a title, select a display theme and decide whether winners should stay in the list. The preview updates as you edit, and your wheel can be saved in this browser or copied into a shareable link. There is no account to create. Use a custom setup for a repeated group activity, a shortlist of ideas or a draw whose entries do not match one of our ready-made presets.
Your entries
4 entriesEach die rolls independently. The wheel shows the first die; the result lists every die and the total. Keep the face entries unchanged.
Equal chance for every entry. Repeated labels count as separate entries.
How to use this wheel
- Review the preset entries and replace any labels that do not fit your custom maker activity.
- Check the displayed entry count, duplicate lines and removal setting before starting.
- Select Spin the wheel, wait for the reveal and read the result in the dialog.
- Copy the result if you need a record, then close the dialog or start another round.
Write labels that survive a small screen
Put one option on each line and keep the most distinctive words near the beginning. ‘Tuesday board game’ is clearer than several entries all starting ‘Our possible plan for…’. Labels may contain up to 80 characters. You can shuffle or reverse the current order with the editing controls. To move a single option, cut that line and paste it into its new position.
Choose settings that communicate your rules
Pick a theme for legibility, rather than attempting to make a favorite option stand out through color alone. Equal mode gives every entry the same chance. Advanced weighted mode requires a positive integer on every line, written as ‘Option | 3.’ Removal applies after the result is revealed, so the selected entry is visible before the next draw begins.
Understand local saves and shared copies
Save stores up to twenty wheels in localStorage on this browser. Saving another wheel with the same title replaces that saved version. Loading a save restores its entries and settings; deleting a saved copy does not delete someone else’s link. A share link encodes a snapshot of your current wheel. Editing your own copy later will not silently update a link already sent.
Plan for reuse without losing the original
Create a clean master version before drawing without replacement. Name it something you will recognize, such as ‘Friday game shortlist,’ then save again under a different title if you want to keep a reduced list. Browser storage can be cleared, blocked or isolated by private browsing. A share link is a useful second copy for public, non-sensitive entries.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit one entry without rebuilding the wheel?
Yes. Edit that line in the entry box and the preview updates. During an animated spin the entry controls are locked so the selected result and the displayed wheel use the same snapshot. Wait for the reveal before changing the next draw’s options.
Where are saved wheels stored?
Saved wheels are held in localStorage in your current browser profile. They are not an online account library and do not automatically sync across devices. Clearing site data or using a temporary private session can remove those copies.
What does a shared wheel link include?
The link contains the title, exact entries, weighting state, removal setting, display theme and applicable mode settings. Anyone receiving the link can read its contents. Do not put private rosters, passwords or sensitive information into a link intended for public sharing.
Why can a very large wheel fail to share?
Long entry lists produce long URLs, and browsers or messaging services can handle those differently. The tool stops generating especially large links rather than promising reliable delivery. Shorten the labels or reduce the number of entries, then try sharing again.
