A little chance. A lot of possibilities.

Random Number 1–7

This random number 1–7 wheel starts with every whole number from 1 through 7, including both endpoints. There are 7 distinct entries, each with a one-in-7 chance before the list changes. It is useful for seven task cards, where you already have a clear number-to-item mapping. Select Spin the wheel to reveal a number, or edit the range controls if your task requires different bounds. The number is selected locally in your browser; no account or uploaded spreadsheet is required.

Weighted mode: write each line as Option | 3. Weights are whole numbers from 1 to 1000. Move a single entry by cutting and pasting its line.

Saving the same title replaces that saved copy. Links include your exact entries; share public text only. Local saves can be cleared by your browser.

Equal chance for every entry. Repeated labels count as separate entries.

How to use this wheel

  1. Review the preset entries and replace any labels that do not fit your random number 1–7 activity.
  2. Check the displayed entry count, duplicate lines and removal setting before starting.
  3. Select Spin the wheel, wait for the reveal and read the result in the dialog.
  4. Copy the result if you need a record, then close the dialog or start another round.

A practical use for 1–7

Arrange seven task cards and number them before the draw. Choose an optional practice task rather than assigning unequal obligations unexpectedly. There is one central value, 4, but it is no more likely than either endpoint. Middle position on the number line does not give a number a larger segment.

Understand the 7-value distribution

With the untouched preset, the chance of any particular value is 1/7, approximately 14.2857 percent. There are 3 even values and 4 odd values in this range. Therefore an even result has probability 3/7, while an odd result has probability 4/7. Those group probabilities count how many eligible labels belong to each group; the tool does not favor odd or even values intentionally. Several repeats can occur by chance when removal is off.

Choose independent draws or a sequence of 7

Leave Remove winner off when every draw should begin with all 7 possible labels. Turn it on when each number may appear at most once during a run. After one removal, the remaining entries each have a one-in-6 chance, rather than the original one-in-7 chance. Save the full starting list before drawing a long sequence, and use Reset preset to restore it. The recent-results display is temporary and is not an exported audit record.

Change the interval without changing the meaning

The Minimum and Maximum fields define an inclusive integer interval. Apply range replaces the entry box with every integer in that interval and turns weights off. Review the resulting count before spinning. You can also delete unavailable labels manually to make a non-consecutive set, but its size then determines the odds. Shuffling or reversing the order changes the visual arrangement, not the equal chance assigned to each remaining line.

Read the numeric label literally

The result is an integer label. It does not rank the selected item, evaluate quality or infer a preferred answer. Keep your external mapping visible when other people need to interpret the draw.

Turn a seven-card pool into a deliberate exercise

Number seven cards with distinct prompts and prepare them before the session. A draw can choose one prompt, or removal can order all seven. The card content should remain fixed while drawing; changing a card after seeing its number changes what the selection means. Keep an ordinary alternative available when an optional prompt is declined.

Seven can also label weekdays, but scheduling requires more than a random label. Decide the mapping explicitly and exclude unavailable dates or commitments before selection. A wheel does not know whether a particular Monday exists in your planning window or whether someone is free. For actual scheduling, agree availability first and use chance only among acceptable remaining options.

Frequently asked questions

Is the middle value 4 more likely?

No. It has the same one-seventh probability as every other default label.

Can I map 1–7 to weekdays?

Yes, after defining the mapping. Check actual availability separately; the tool has no calendar connection.

Why are odd results slightly more common in this range?

There are four odd labels and three even labels, so the grouped probabilities are four-sevenths and three-sevenths.

How can seven prompt cards appear once each?

Enable removal, keep each number once and record the matching card after every draw.
