A little chance. A lot of possibilities.

Random Number 1–500

This random number 1–500 wheel starts with every whole number from 1 through 500, including both endpoints. There are 500 distinct entries, each with a one-in-500 chance before the list changes. It is useful for five hundred numbered practice items, where you already have a clear number-to-item mapping. Select Spin the wheel to reveal a number, or edit the range controls if your task requires different bounds. The number is selected locally in your browser; no account or uploaded spreadsheet is required.

Weighted mode: write each line as Option | 3. Weights are whole numbers from 1 to 1000. Move a single entry by cutting and pasting its line.

Saving the same title replaces that saved copy. Links include your exact entries; share public text only. Local saves can be cleared by your browser.

Equal chance for every entry. Repeated labels count as separate entries.

How to use this wheel

  1. Review the preset entries and replace any labels that do not fit your random number 1–500 activity.
  2. Check the displayed entry count, duplicate lines and removal setting before starting.
  3. Select Spin the wheel, wait for the reveal and read the result in the dialog.
  4. Copy the result if you need a record, then close the dialog or start another round.

A practical use for 1–500

Use a public practice bank with five hundred numbered items. A random label can select an exercise, but the tool does not retrieve the exercise or know whether its link still exists. For a large pool, inspect the count and endpoints in the entry box rather than relying on segment text. A crowded circle is only a visual summary of the full list.

Understand the 500-value distribution

With the untouched preset, the chance of any particular value is 1/500, approximately 0.2 percent. There are 250 even values and 250 odd values in this range. Therefore an even result has probability 250/500, while an odd result has probability 250/500. Those group probabilities count how many eligible labels belong to each group; the tool does not favor odd or even values intentionally. Several repeats can occur by chance when removal is off.

Choose independent draws or a sequence of 500

Leave Remove winner off when every draw should begin with all 500 possible labels. Turn it on when each number may appear at most once during a run. After one removal, the remaining entries each have a one-in-499 chance, rather than the original one-in-500 chance. Save the full starting list before drawing a long sequence, and use Reset preset to restore it. The recent-results display is temporary and is not an exported audit record.

Change the interval without changing the meaning

The Minimum and Maximum fields define an inclusive integer interval. Apply range replaces the entry box with every integer in that interval and turns weights off. Review the resulting count before spinning. You can also delete unavailable labels manually to make a non-consecutive set, but its size then determines the odds. Shuffling or reversing the order changes the visual arrangement, not the equal chance assigned to each remaining line.

Read the numeric label literally

The result is an integer label. It does not rank the selected item, evaluate quality or infer a preferred answer. Keep your external mapping visible when other people need to interpret the draw.

Maintain a large practice bank without unreadable labels

For five hundred indexed exercises, use short numeric labels on the wheel and keep the full prompts in a separate document. The result dialog identifies the selected number clearly even though the canvas omits dense segment text. Check that the external bank actually contains each numbered item and that archived or broken examples are excluded from the active pool.

A saved wheel stores the input numbers and settings, not the content of the external bank. If the bank changes order, an old saved configuration still contains the same numbers while their meanings may have changed. Give the bank a version or date in your own records when reproducibility of the mapping matters. The wheel itself does not synchronize with that document.

Frequently asked questions

Are all five hundred labels printed on the circle?

No. Tiny labels would be unreadable. The editor retains the complete list and the dialog displays the chosen number.

Does a saved configuration include my exercise bank?

No. It stores the wheel inputs and settings, not a separate worksheet or document.

What is the chance of one specific value?

One-five-hundredth, or 0.2 percent, before editing, weighting or removal.

What should I do with an archived exercise number?

Delete that label from the active pool and inspect the updated count before drawing.
